What is a PayPal Address?

Signing Up
When you sign up for an account at Paypal.com you are offered the choice of a personal, premier or business account, each with different fees and restrictions. The email address you provide when you sign up is your PayPal address.
Verification
Whether you intend to send or receive money, you will have to provide some financial information. If you intend to transfer money between your PayPal account and another account, you must verify the other account according to PayPal's procedures.
Payments
Freelancers and consultants use PayPal to receive payments for services. They provide their PayPal address to clients and the clients pay the consultants through PayPal into the designated account.
Online Purchases
Many online sellers, whether through auctions or retail sites, use PayPal to receive payments. The buyer can use a bank account, credit card debit card or some other electronic means to make the payment through PayPal and into the seller's account.

According to PayPal's website, the company handled over $47 billion in transactions in 2007 with 65 million active accounts worldwide. This covers 190 markets and 19 different currencies.
