Ways to Advertise PayPal Buttons

Website
The primary way to advertise a PayPal button is on a business website. If you sell your products and services from your own business website, PayPal has HTML code you can copy and paste into your website. Place the button near the product or service you sell. When buyers click on the button, it takes them through the PayPal shopping cart to complete the purchase transaction.
EBay
Whether or not you sell your products and services from your own website, you can also advertise your PayPal buttons on eBay. EBay allows sellers to place PayPal buttons in auctions as well as Buy Now Transactions, where the product or service sells for a flat rate rather than in a bid situation.
Emails and E-newsletters
You can also advertise your PayPal buttons in email blasts and e-newsletters that you send to subscribers on your list. You can promote either a single product or service with a PayPal button in an email or several products or services in one email, each with its PayPal button. You can also insert one or two products or services, along with coordinating PayPal buttons in e-newsletters that regularly go out to subscribers. Providing PayPal buttons in emails and e-newsletters makes it easy for buyers to purchase directly from the email, without having to go to your website to complete the transaction.

How to Sell Music With PayPal

1. Start a Web page. In order to sell music independently, musicians generally need to create a Web page. The only requirements for this Web page are to give prospective buyers some information about the artist and the music. The musician may wish to put samples of his music on the website. Depending on the amount of money the musician wishes to spend, he can either register a domain and design a page from scratch, or build a page on a social networking site. The website should list prices for various songs and albums, which can be made available in a physical form, such as CD or vinyl record, or as an MP3 download, and a means of communicating an order, such as through email.
2. Open a PayPal account. PayPal is an online-banking site that allows members to receive and send money. When a person opens a PayPal account, he can send money to his account either from another PayPal account or from a bank account. A PayPal member can then transfer this money to his own bank account. Setting up an account is free and takes only a short amount of time.
3. Instruct buyers on how to pay you. When a buyer communicates to you that he wants to buy your music, use the 'Request Money' feature on PayPal. PayPal will then send the buyer an email instructing him how to pay money. After the buyer pays, the money will appear in your PayPal account.
4. Send your music to your buyers. After the buyer has paid, you have several ways in which you can send him his music. If he ordered a physical record, such as a vinyl record or a CD, ship it to him by mail. If he ordered MP3 files, either email them to him or make them available to him by uploading them to a file storage site and then emailing him the site address.

How the PayPal Withdrawal to Credit Card Feature Works

Verify Account
You must be a PayPal Verified user to withdraw money from your account to a credit card. Pass the required security checks, such as adding and confirming a bank account with PayPal or getting approved for a PayPal Plus credit card, so the network can identify you as an actual user.
Validate the Credit Card
Not every credit card will work with the withdrawal process, and each issuing bank may have its own guidelines and regulations. Test your card by initiating a withdrawal to determine if your card is an eligible source. Watch or refresh your status to ascertain if any money has transferred.Alternatively, check the card's eligibility by clicking 'Profile' on the Account Overview page and selecting 'Credit Cards' in the Financial Information column. The status will reveal if your card is allowed to be used.
Limits and Fees
PayPal has a minimum and maximum withdrawal amount that varies by country. Each withdrawal will incur a fee of $5 per transaction, and currency conversion or return fees may also apply.
Withdrawing Funds
Transfer your funds from PayPal to your credit card by clicking the 'Withdraw' and selecting 'Transfer funds to your card.' Fill in any required information and click 'Continue' to complete the transaction.
Final Transfer
PayPal typically completes the transfer to your card in five to seven business days. However your issuing bank may have policies that affect the processing time. A credit card transfer will appear as a credit on your credit card account/statement; a debit card transfer will list a credit to your bank account, and a prepaid card transfer will increase the card's balance.

What Can I Do If PayPal Freezes Account?

Causes of PayPal Account Limitation
There are many different reasons why PayPal might limit your account. In many cases, it's because you received a large sum of money within a short time. In other cases, it may be because your account has been accessed by an unauthorized user, because you received money to a suspicious PayPal account or because there is a chargeback or dispute on your account.
Steps to Remove a Limitation
When your account has been limited, PayPal will notify you by email. However, there are many scammers that use look-alike emails to gain access to your PayPal username and password. You should never click any link in any email notification of PayPal account limitation. Instead, type 'PayPal.com' into your web browser address bar and press 'Enter.' For your own safety, you should also use a browser with phishing protection to ensure that you are not redirected to a scam website.Log into your PayPal account, then click 'Resolution Center' at the top of the screen. Then select 'Learn why your account access is limited.' In most cases, PayPal will want to receive confirmation of your social security number and your telephone number, as well as proof of shipping. They may also want to see invoices from your suppliers showing that you have legitimately purchased the items you received payment for through PayPal. If you have a technical question about how to submit the forms, you can contact PayPal by email. However, if you have a concern regarding your account limitation, you should contact them using their toll-free customer service telephone number.
Additional Solutions
If you fulfill all the requirements to remove the limitation from your account, PayPal will usually lift the limitation within 3 days. If this doesn't happen, you must call PayPal by telephone. Ask if there was a problem with the information you provided and see if there is anything more you can do to lift the limitation. If the representative doesn't have the authority to make changes to your PayPal account, ask to speak to a customer service supervisor. It may be necessary to call several times before the limitation is lifted, so be persistent. To prevent further problems with PayPal account limitation, always retain merchandise invoices and shipping receipts. Also, use a secure password for your PayPal account and protect your username and password from being discovered by unauthorized persons.

Can a PayPal Account Be Linked to More Than One eBay Account?

Linking Accounts
Linking accounts is done on the eBay website in the 'My eBay' user account section. On the 'Account' tab of the 'My eBay' page, users can click the 'PayPal Account' link to access their PayPal information. If no PayPal account is linked to the eBay account, clicking the 'Link My PayPal Account' button allows the user to log in to his PayPal account. Once login is complete he simply has to verify that he wants to link the accounts to complete the link.
Multiple eBay Accounts
eBay guidelines allow users to have multiple eBay accounts so long as the accounts aren't used to violate eBay rules. This allows sellers who have an eBay store to have a personal account as well, and lets eBay users who wish to use different accounts for different purposes do so. Each account must have a distinct email address associated with it. The accounts cannot interact by bidding on each other's auctions or otherwise being used to inflate auction prices or mislead customers.
Multiple PayPal Addresses
PayPal accounts can have up to eight email addresses associated with them, though personal and premier accounts may only have one user associated with the account. New addresses can be added to a PayPal account by clicking the 'Profile' link under the 'My Account' tab visible after the user signs in to his account. Clicking the 'Add' button in the 'Email' portion of the profile or personal info page lets users add another address; a confirmation email will be sent to the address when the new email information is saved.
Linking to Multiple Accounts
Linking additional eBay accounts to a PayPal account is done in the same manner as adding a single account. Up to eight user IDs can be added to a single account. If multiple email addresses have already been added to the PayPal account, these addresses should be used when creating new eBay accounts to ensure that the user doesn't run out of available links. If older eBay accounts need to be removed to add new user IDs, they can be removed from the PayPal account in the 'Auctions' or 'My Seller Tools' portion of the PayPal user's 'Profile' page.

Alternatives to PayPal

Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit allows payers to deposit money into a payee's bank account. This is only recommended for trusted clients and employers as the payee provides some very personal details including bank name, account number and routing numbers. Many employers prefer Direct Deposit because it eliminates the printing and distributing of paychecks, and saves on postage. To receive payment, the payee fills out forms provided by the bank. Required information includes name, address and bank details. When the payer receives these details he enters them into an online form and sends it all to the bank. When it's time to pay, the person initiating the transaction enters the payment amount onto another online form and submits that information to the bank as well. The bank makes the payment and one to five days later, the payee receives it in his bank account.
ProPay
Though it's not as popular as PayPal, ProPay has been around for over a decade. Launched in 1997, ProPay allows payers to use credit cards to make payments to ProPay account holders. Account holders receive their funds via a special ProPay debit card, or they transfer ProPay funds directly into their bank accounts. All ProPay credit card transactions go through an immediate approval process. If the credit card isn't valid or doesn't have enough funds, the transaction doesn't take place. Approved transactions generally take three to five days to complete.
Google Checkout
Google Checkout is a popular PayPal alternative for e-commerce sites. This service is available to anyone with a credit card. Simply enter your name, address, phone number, email address and credit card details into the secure Google Checkout form. Now when you use a Google Checkout-approved vendor, the service automatically enters your details, saving you the trouble of having to continuously dig for your wallet during online shopping trips. Google will never give the merchant the full number for your credit card, ensuring your privacy and keeping your credit card number away from hackers. To check your transaction history, sign into Google Accounts. Everything purchased using your Google Checkout account is available for viewing. Because Google keeps your private details private, this option appeals to many people who would like to use PayPal but don't quite trust it to be secure.

What Are PayPal Withdrawal Limits?

Unverified Accounts
As of March 2011, PayPal allows you to use its service with certain limits until you verify your personal information. PayPal states on its website that these restrictions are for security reasons. PayPal requests your credit card or bank account information but prefers the latter so it can send and withdraw money directly from your account and avoid the transaction fees associated with credit companies. It also requests your personal information to simplify the process of monitoring for fraudulent activities. Until you provide this information, PayPal places restrictions on your account that may only affect you if you make large or frequent transactions.
Your Withdrawal Limit
Until you verify your account, you may only withdraw a total of $500 per month from PayPal. You can receive payments of $300, $50, $20 and $30, for example, and still be within $100 of your limit for any given month. The beginning of the month for you may vary from other users since PayPal bases it on when you open your account. For example, if you open your account on the 15th of the month, your months start on the 15th.
Transaction Limits
You may send one payment of no more than $4,000 if you don't have a PayPal account, but you can't receive money through PayPal. If you do have an account, you can send up to $10,000 in a single transaction. With a verified account, there is no limit on the total amount of money you can send with PayPal; with an unverified account, there is a limit, which varies by user.
Lifting Your Limit
To learn the withdrawal and transaction limits on your PayPal account, sign in, click the 'My Account' link then click 'View Limits.' Click 'Lift My Limits' and follow the instructions to receive higher limits on your account. You may have to verify your account.

Can I Add Funds From a PayPal Line of Credit to My Debit Card?

Linking PayPal to a Bank Account
PayPal allows users to link their accounts directly to a bank account. When PayPal links to a checking account, it deposits money directly into that account via electronic transfer. This money then becomes available in the debit account of the user. PayPal does not allow users to transfer funds not available in an account to a bank account, meaning the direct link between a PayPal account and a checking account cannot be used as a line of credit. All transfers must be completed manually. The company sends physical checks to users for a fee of $1.50, as of the date of publication.
The PayPal Debit Card
PayPal offers a debit card in conjunction with MasterCard. This card allows users to withdraw money from a PayPal account from any ATM worldwide and can be used at any point of sale accepting MasterCard. The funds for the PayPal debit card come directly from the account of the user. If a user wishes to spend more money than a PayPal account holds, that user may connect the PayPal debit card to a bank account. This protects users from overdrafts or potentially denied purchases. The PayPal MasterCard can connect to a debit account, though does not provide a line of credit to users.
The PayPal Credit Card
PayPal offers a credit card to users, also in conjuction with MasterCard. This card works just like a regular credit card. It extends a predetermined line of credit to users and offers points on the purchase of certain items. The PayPal MasterCard allows users to withdraw cash from PayPal accounts at ATMs and make payments on the card directly from a PayPal account. The PayPal credit card does not allow users to connect the line of credit extended by the card to any other line of credit such as a debit card account.
PayPal Smart Connect
PayPal Smart Connect constitutes a line of credit available to PayPal members. Site members sign up for Smart Connect through their accounts. PayPal must approve users for the service. Once approved, users may purchase items on credit from their PayPal accounts. The company specifies the amount of credit available to each Smart Connect approved member upon approving individuals for the program. Users cannot connect the Smart Connect credit line to a debit or credit card; all credit purchases are billed directly to an individual's PayPal account and must be purchased through that account.
Shopping Online with PayPal
PayPal users have the option of purchasing items online through PayPal accounts without the use of Smart Connect or a PayPal debit or credit card. Certain websites connect to PayPal, so that when a user purchases an item, that user enters his or her PayPal account information and the site withdraws payment directly from the account. Users without funds in their accounts cannot use this function. Purchasing items in this manner circumvents the need for a credit or debit card or bank account when making online purchases.

How to Start a Debit Card Account

Bank Account Debit Card
1. Open a bank account if you do not have one already. Provide two valid forms of identification. At least one ID should show a current, verifiable address.
2. Ask your bank if it requires you to have a checking account in order to qualify for a debit card. Some banks may require that you have a savings account and a checking account. One advantage to having a savings account along with your checking account is that the bank can use it to cover any overdraft on your checking account.
3. Make an initial deposit into your account. Some banks require that you maintain a minimum balance in your checking account. Each time your account drops below the minimum balance, the bank can charge a fee. That fee would be waived if you have overdraft protection.
Non-Bank Account Debit Card
4. Purchase prepaid debit cards from a retail establishment such as a drug store, supermarket or department store. You simply pay the store the amount you want on the card. For example, if you want a $500 debit card, pay the cashier $500. You may also need to pay upfront activation fees.
5. Apply for a secured debit card offered by credit card merchants. Send the merchant the amount of money that will become your debit card limit. Merchants may charge nominal fees for transactions and annual membership.
6. Open a PayPal account. PayPal offers debit cards to its members. It does not require a minimum deposit. Put some money into your PayPal account before you use the debit card. Some people use PayPal to receive money from friends and family members. You can also use PayPal to receive money for services rendered or when selling products online. PayPal may still require that you provide checking account information to open an account. Set up your checking account to cover any overdrafts that you may incur through PayPal.

How to Use a PayPal Balance for a Prepaid Credit Card

1. Open the paypal.com website and log in to the website using your PayPal email address and password. Click on "Profile" from the "My Account" tab. The "My Account" tab is the default setting when you log on to your PayPal account. Under the subheading "Financial Information," click the link for "PayPal-branded debit/ATM cards." Click the link "Request a Card."
2. Enter the requested information. PayPal will ask you to confirm your address through a credit card or bank account that is linked to your PayPal account. If you have not already linked a credit card or bank account to your PayPal account, Paypal will ask you to enter your account information for either a credit card, checking account or savings account. PayPal will also ask you to enter the last four digits of your social security number and your date of birth.
3. Wait for your new PayPal Debit MasterCard to come in the mail. You should receive your new card in the mail in approximately 7-14 business days.
4. Activate your new PayPal Debit MasterCard. Log in to your PayPal account. Click the "Profile" link from the "My Account" tab. Click the link for "PayPal Debit Card" under the "Financial Information" subheading. Select the debit card and click "Activate Now." PayPal will ask you to enter the security code on the back of the PayPal Debit MasterCard and to select and confirm a four-digit ATM pin code.
5. Use your PayPal Debit MasterCard to make a purchase at any merchant that accepts MasterCard. The funds for the purchase are automatically debited from your PayPal balance.

How to Pay From PayPal With a Debit Card

1. Sign up for a PayPal account. Establishing a new account online is fast and easy because it generates menu-driven questions to the new user. This website employs the highest level of security ensuring that the user's confidential information is protected from theft.
2. Decide on payment and funding options. PayPal allows users to add to and pay from their accounts. One can use PayPal to pay for purchases even if her specific account balance is zero by using third-party funding (credit cards, debit cards and electronic checks). A user may select one or all available options for additional flexibility.
3. Select one or more debit card options. One choice is to attach one or more bank debit cards (not ATM cards) to the PayPal account. Then you can later choose to make payments from the card(s) attached to the account. Another option is to add a card at the time of payment. PayPal offers users wide flexibility of payment options--permitting any "foiled" (with a VISA or MasterCard logo) plastic card to be used to make payments.
4. Apply for a PayPal debit card as a second distinct option. This is particularly beneficial if you receive payments into or choose to transfer money to your PayPal account from other sources. The PayPal debit card can be used to make electronic payments, point-of-purchase retail transactions and to obtain cash from an ATM.

Click 'Register,' then enter the prompted information. Choose your username and password, and a secret question and answer. Enter your birth date. Finally, type in the numbers shown in the verification code and check mark the box to indicate that you agree with eBay's User Agreement Privacy Policy. Check to make sure all the information you have typed in is correct, then click 'Continue.' You will proceed to link a PayPal account to your new eBay account.
2. After signing in, go to the top right-hand corner and place your mouse over 'Sell.' A pull-down menu will appear. Click on 'Sell an item,' then on the bright blue button labeled 'Start selling.' Browse categories to enter three keywords that relate to the item you want to sell.

4. Scroll down on the page and enter a starting price for your item. You can choose to list your item in an auction to last three, five, seven or 10 days. The highest bidder after your set duration wins the item. Or, you can list a fixed price for your item. The first person to click on 'Buy It Now' and send a payment wins the item.

6. Click 'Continue.' A preview of your listing will appear. Read over everything carefully to ensure accuracy. After you have confirmed your listing, it is released to the eBay community. Once your item has received a bid, you cannot edit your listing -- unless you choose to end the listing earlier than your stated duration. If you end an item listing early, you will not be refunded listing fees.
7. Watch for the highest bidder or 'Buy It Now' bidder to send payment after your listing has ended. If the bidder has not sent payment within three or four days, e-mail a gentle reminder. If you do not receive payment, do not ship the item. You may relist the item for another bidder to purchase.

PayPal Debit Card Tips

Cash Benefits
When you get your debit card, sign up for PayPal's Preferred Rewards program. This program provides one percent cash back when you use a credit option rather than entering your PIN number to pay for purchases. Consider adding your bank checking or savings account as a free back-up funding option to ensure you can still use your card even if you do not have sufficient funds to pay for a purchase.
Student Cards
The PayPal debit card carries the option to apply for a student card for your child. If the child lives away from home or attends college, this is an easy and instant way to transfer money from your PayPal account to your child. Another feature allows you to monitor how your child is spending the money you send by allowing you access to his transaction summary. Except for an ATM fee, there are no fees for setting up or using a student debit card account.
Cautions
If you use your debit card to pay for gas, pay inside rather than at the pump. Using your card at the pump may be convenient, but a process called pre-authorization can tie up funds for up to five days. Pre-authorization is a way PayPal verifies you have money in account to pay for a gas purchase, but clearing the pre-authorization charge does not happen immediately. Understand that if you use your PayPal debit card at an ATM or in an over the counter transaction at your bank, PayPal will charge additional fees. As of 2011, the ATM fee is $1 per transaction and using your card to get cash at a bank will cost $3 per transaction.
Considerations
Pay attention to PayPal debit card spending limits to avoid a decline of your purchase or ATM request. As of 2011, PayPal places a daily spending limit of $3,000 and ATM limit of $400 on debit card transactions. Make sure that if you move, you update profile information. When your PayPal card comes close to its expiration date, PayPal will automatically send you a new card to the address in your account profile. If your address is incorrect, the post office will not use a forwarding address, but rather will send the card back to PayPal.

How to Return an Item Purchased on PayPal

3. Click the blue 'My Account' tab at the top of the screen, then click 'History.'
4. Scroll down and find the payment corresponding to your purchase, then click the 'Details' link next to 'Payment Status.'
5. Click 'Return Shipping Label' located at the bottom of the page. Enter the shipping information, then click 'Continue.'
6. Double-check the information you provided on the form, then click 'Pay and Continue.' Print the label by clicking 'Print' in the dialog box and check your email for confirmation from PayPal.
7. Take the item and label to your nearest post office. Ask the clerk to pad the item, if necessary, and box it. Include any additional items required by the seller.
8. Purchase Delivery Confirmation to have a backup record of delivery, then attach the label to the package and mail it.
