How to Send Money by Phone With PayPal

1. Log in to your PayPal account, or sign up for a new account. Click the 'Activate PayPal Mobile' link on the left side of your account page, then create a personal mobile PIN to activate your cell phone. Verify that your wireless carrier handles PayPal services by clicking the 'wireless carrier' link at PayPal, or by visiting the carrier's website.
2. Send a text message to PayPal with the numbers 729725. Then, type the amount you owe and the friend's phone number or email. For example, text 'send 50 to 1234567890' or 'send 10 to name@email.com.'
3. Wait for PayPal to call you or send you a text to confirm your PIN. Afterward, PayPal will send a text to your friend's phone to notify them of the payment. The money gets posted to your friend's account automatically. If your friend doesn't have PayPal, he or she will need to sign up and activate their phone for PayPal Mobile service.
4. Go to PayPal.com on your cell phone. Enter your email and password to log in, then choose the 'Send Money' tab. Fill out the form on the 'Send Money' page by entering the person's phone number or email, then the amount you owe. Hit 'Continue,' and your friend will receive a text message reading that you sent cash.
5. Call PayPal to send money by phone. Dial 1-800-4PAYPAL and listen for the prompt to enter your mobile PIN, amount and your friend's phone number. He or she will be alerted by text when the cash has been sent to their PayPal account.
