What Information Do I Give Someone to Receive PayPal?


Email Address
In order to receive money from someone, the only thing that you need to provide is an email address. The person sending the money will enter your email address as the recipient when processing the transaction through PayPal. The sender does not need to know your name, address, phone number or any other personal or banking information.
Receiving Money With a PayPal Account
If you already have a PayPal account, the funds will show up in your account after the sender processes the transaction through PayPal. Simply log in to your PayPal account and check the history for your account. The sender's email address will be listed as well as his name and what the payment is for if he provided this information.
Receiving Money Without a PayPal Account
Someone can send you money through PayPal even if you do not have an existing PayPal account. If someone sends money to your email address and you do not have a PayPal account, Paypal will notify your through email that you have a payment waiting for you. PayPal will provide a link and instructions on how to set up a PayPal account to access your money.
Requesting Money
If you have a PayPal account, you can send a request to someone for a payment. After you log in to PayPal, go to the Request Money section and enter the person's email address and the amount of money you are requesting. The person will be notified that you are requesting money via PayPal and they can log in to PayPal and send you the money.
