How to Lock a PayPal Account

1. Open a Web browser and navigate to the PayPal login page. Type your PayPal account email and password in the spaces provided and click the 'Log In' button to log into your PayPal account.
2. Move your mouse cursor over the 'Profile' menu option and select the 'More Options' option. Click the 'My Settings' option, followed by the 'Get Started' option to the right of the 'Security Key' heading.
3. Click the 'Get Security Key' link, followed by the 'Order a credit-card size Security Key' option. Confirm your shipping address is correct and click the 'Place Order' button to order the security key.
4. Wait for the security key to arrive in the mail. Once the security key arrives, return to the 'Security key setup' page you navigated to in step 2.
5. Click the 'Activate your PayPal security key' link. Type the serial number that appears on the front of your security key in the space labeled 'Serial number.'
6. Press the button on the front of the security key and enter the six-digit number that appears in the space labeled '6-digit code.'
7. Press the button a second time and enter the six-digit number that appears in the space labeled 'Next 6-digit code.'
8. Click the 'Activate' button to activate your security key. Now, you will need your security key any time you want to log into your PayPal account, and your account will be locked if you do not have it.
