What Can You Use the Pay

ATM Transactions
You can use your PayPal debit card at the ATM, just as you would use any other type of debit card. It is a good idea to check the fees associated with the transaction, since some banks will charge a fee to use of their ATM. When using your PayPal debit card at the ATM you should follow the same common sense safety precautions you would with any ATM withdrawal. These include only using ATMs in well lighted areas, shielding the keypad as you enter your PIN, and putting the cash into your wallet before you step away from the machine.
Online Purchases
Shopping online is very convenient, and you can use your PayPal debit card, and your PayPal account, to shop online. A growing number of Internet merchants now accept PayPal directly, allowing you to use your existing PayPal balance, as well as your linked bank account, to pay for your purchases. Even if the merchant does not accept direct PayPal payments, you can use your debit card to make a purchase, just as you would with any other debit card. Always keep a record of each transaction and check your PayPal account to make sure the transaction was recorded properly.
Retail Store Purchases
You can use your PayPal debit card at any store that accepts debit cards for payment. While some smaller merchants might not accept debit cards, virtually all retail stores, restaurants and grocery stores do accept debit card payments. If you are unsure whether or not the store accepts debit cards, be sure to ask before you make your purchase. And as with any debit card purchase, it is important to keep copies of your receipts so you can reconcile your account when you get home. If you spot an incorrect or unauthorized transaction you should contact PayPal right away.
Cash Back
When you use your PayPal debit card for a retail store transaction, you might be able to get additional cash back. Many grocery stores, for instance, allow customers to request up to $100 cash back when they make a purchase with a debit card. That means you can use your PayPal debit card to pull cash from your account, without worrying about ATM fees. Since this type of cash back withdrawal is considered a point of sale transaction, there are no ATM fees to pay.
