How to Use PayPal to Accept a Payment

1. Open your Web browser and navigate to the PayPal home page. Log into your account, then click on the 'Merchant Services' tab.
2. Click on 'Website Payments Standard' in the left menu. This service allows you to make PayPal payment buttons and incorporate them on your website and accept payments from visitors.
3. Create a payment button. For example, click on 'Create one now' underneath the 'Buy Now' button. This button allows a visitor to purchase a single item directly from your website.
4. Customize your 'Buy Now' button. Enter the item name and optional item ID into the two text boxes. Enter the item's price in the next box and select a currency from the drop down menu beside it. Enter shipping and tax rates as well, then click the 'Create Button' link to have PayPal create the button and take you to the next page.
5. Copy the button's code in the text area. Open your HTML page and paste the code in an appropriate place so that the 'Buy Now' button appears beside the item you want to sell. Save the HTML file and upload it to your server. When a visitor clicks this button, he will be directed to confirm his payment method and the money will be deposited into your PayPal account.
