How to Sell Ebooks with PayPal

1. Set up a PayPal account. It is essential to have an account with PayPal before you can use the service for payment processing. This may take a few days, so start before you need it.
2. Write an ebook. Have your ebook ready to upload. Upload your ebook to a website. You can usually do this from the File Manager. Click 'upload' and the browse screen will show. Find the ebook on your computer through the browse screen and click on it. Wait for it to upload. You should get a message that it has successfully uploaded.
3. Create a sales page on the website, and a download page. Create a link from the download page to the ebook file. Your link will look similar to this with the greater than and less than marks in place of the parenthesis. 4. Log in to your PayPal account. Click on the 'Merchant Services' tab at the top of the page. Click on 'Buy Now' under 'Create Buttons' tab. Complete the item name and ID, the price and tax. Customize the button if you choose and go to the next page to let PayPal track inventory or to add any custom features you want.
5. Complete the form with the URL of your website download page. Once the form is completed, there is html code to copy and paste into your selling page.
6. Copy and paste the html code from PayPal into the selling page on your website. Test the process to be sure that it works to your satisfaction. A purchaser should read the sales page and click the 'Buy Now' button. This takes her to the PayPal information to check out. Once she checks out, the next page is the download page that you linked to the PayPal information. The download page will have the information to download the ebook to her computer, and tell her 'thank you' for the purchase.
