How to Get a New Paypal Account

1. Click on the 'Sign Up' link at the top of PayPal's homepage. A link to PayPal's homepage is provided in the References section. A new page will appear after you click on the 'Sign Up' link.
2. Select an account type. PayPal offers personal accounts (for making payments), premier accounts (for making and receiving payments), business accounts (for company use) and student accounts (for parents of teen-agers).
3. Click on the 'Get Started' button. It is located beneath your preferred account type.
4. Enter your personal information. Include your email address, first and last name, mailing address, phone number and a secure password that consists of at least eight characters. All PayPal transactions are linked to the email address that you provide upon signing up.
5. Click on the 'Agree and Create Account' button.
6. Choose your preferred method of payment. PayPal allows an account holder to pay directly from his checking or savings account or by credit card.
7. Click on the 'Continue' button.
8. Enter payment information. When entering credit card information, include the card number, expiration date and card security code. When entering checking or savings account information, include the bank name, account type, routing number and account number.
9. Click on the 'Continue' button to complete the process.
