How to Add a Custom Button to PayPal

1. Create the custom image for the PayPal order button. The merchant can make a custom image with an image editor like PhotoShop or find a Web designer to create an image by using a directory of Web designers (visit xemion.com).
2. Place the custom image on a website page by itself. Merchants can save images by logging in at the Web host's cPanel control panel. Click on "File Manager" and the "public_html" folder. Click on the "Upload" link and upload the custom image to make the new file. PayPal will incorporate the Web address of this new file into the button code when the merchant makes the button.
3. Log in at PayPal and click on the "Merchant Services" tab. This section contains the PayPal button makers. Choose one of the buttons in the "Create Buttons" menu to open up the button maker.
4. Choose a button type and fill out the item details. Click on "Customize appearance" to display the options to convert the button to a custom button.
5. Click the "Use your own button image" radio button to add a custom image. A link box appears that starts with the "http://" prefix. Enter the web address where the image is located. The "Buyer's View" window to the right displays only buttons with the PayPal images, so do not worry if the custom image does not appear in that window.
6. Fill out the other information in the button maker. Click "Create Button" at the bottom to complete the process and get the code for the custom button.
7. Copy the website code on the next page. Paste that code into the order page on the website. Email marketers can also use the email code to incorporate the button into sales emails.
