How to Find My Bank Account Number

1. Look on one of your checks for your bank account number. Most checks have three sets of numbers along the bottom. The first, a nine-digit number that starts with a line and colon, is the bank routing number. The shortest number, a four-digit number that is usually last, is the check number. Your account number, which is 12 digits beginning with three zeroes, is usually in between the routing number and the check number. In most cases, you are only asked to provide the last nine digits and you can omit the leading zeroes.
2. Look on your bank statement for your account number if you do not have a check handy. Unless you opt out of it, most banks send an account statement every month. Your account number will usually be located at the top of this statement and will be easily identified.
3. Call or visit your bank to obtain your account number, if this is easier than finding a check or statement. When visiting the bank, you will need identification to receive your information. Some banks let you access your account online, where you can find your account number if you know your user name and password.
