Can I Have More Than One PayPal Account?
Multiple Account
PayPal offers three types of accounts -- a Personal account, a Premier account and a Business account. According to their user agreement, an individual can hold one Personal account and one Premier or Business account. So in answer to the question above -- yes, you can hold more than one PayPal account. You are however, only limited to two accounts under your name provided one is a Personal PayPal account and the other a Premier or Business one.
Differences Between Accountds
A Personal account is typically used for online shopping and bill payments. You can also use this for accepting personal payments from friends and family, such as payment for shared rent or splitting dinner bills. If your are planning to use PayPal to accept payments for goods and services you sell online, a Premier account is recommended. Premier accounts are for casual sellers, or for non-businesses who wish to receive buyer payments. Business accounts on the other hand, offer more features for large organizations such as allowing access of up to 200 employees as well a PayPal account under a group or company name.
Multiple Emails And Bank Accounts
Although you can only have one Personal and one Premier or Business Account at PayPal, you can add more than one email to your account. In this case, if you are a seller and have multiple sites where you sell products at, you can attach both your payments@mytshirtshop.com and payments@myshoestore.com emails to one PayPal account. You can also have more than one bank account or credit card attached to an account. The only limitation is, if the bank account or credit card is already associated to one account, you cannot attach it to a second PayPal account.
Sharing Account
Personal and Premier accounts can only belong to an individual, but you can add joint bank accounts to either PayPal account. It's good to remember though, if you have a shared bank account, only one of you can add it to a PayPal account. If you have a business, Business accounts allow you to share access to more than one person such as an accountant or your business partner. Certain privileges can be set with regards to the level of access for each person.

How to Explain PayPal
1. Describe that PayPal is an online financial broker. PayPal earns the trust of the buyer and the seller, and hold their credit card and bank information secret. The company sends funds to email addresses without revealing the credit card or bank information of the payer.
2. Detail PayPal's requirements. The user requires no special technology or business license, only a valid email address and a valid credit card or bank account. There are three PayPal account types: personal, premier, and business. A personal account will allow anyone to send funds to or receive funds from anyone with an email address, but cannot accept credit or debit card payments. A premier account is just like the personal account, but it also allows payment from credit and debit cards and bank accounts. The business account is best suited for those running a large online business and offers no restrictions on transaction size. Setting up any PayPal account takes just a few minutes. When you send a payment, PayPal debits your chosen primary source of funding within 2 business days. If you are using PayPal to receive funds, you can leave those funds in your account and use them to purchase goods and services.
3. Explain how PayPal profits from your transactions. PayPal is entirely free for buyers; it costs nothing for someone to use PayPal to send funds. Sellers, however, are charged 1.9 percent to 2.9 percent to receive funds. There is also a surcharge that PayPal will withdraw from your funds whenever you accept a payment from a buyer.
4. Describe the transaction possibilities through PayPal. As stated, PayPal became famous through eBay, and it is used in 95 percent of eBay transactions. However, you don't have to be on eBay to use PayPal. It is a great method of transferring funds between strangers. Collecting money for events, paying for services or purchasing something from a stranger can be completed using PayPal.
5. List the safety measures employed by PayPal. It uses secure technology and employ experts in all areas of online safety. It is guaranteed against fraud and identity theft; every transaction is confirmed through email to the account holder and there is a 24/7 support team that will help the customer sort out any disputable transaction. EBay purchases can be insured up to $1,000. PayPal employs an antifraud team that uses the latest technology to detect and predict suspicious activity. Ultimately, PayPal is as safe as any online bank.

PayPal Is Unable to Add the Social Security Number to the Database
Identity Verification Process
PayPal requires you to provide your Social Security number -- along with other personal information such as your legal name and bank account number -- so that all users can have smoother and more secure transactions. According to PayPal's Privacy Policy, it collects the data to "compare information for accuracy and verify it with third parties." Once your identity is confirmed, you have more privileges as well as validity as a seller, depending on what type of account you have.
Account Limitations
If PayPal is unable to verify your identity, your account will be limited in some capacity. New accounts initially have a withdrawal limit of $500 per month. Other limitations may be on your account if PayPal encountered some conflicting information about your identity. If you are trying to lift the limits on your account but PayPal isn't accepting your Social Security number, you have an identity problem on your hands. PayPal won't remove your limits until this problem is resolved.
Possible Problems
Conflicting information about your identity can happen for a variety of reasons. If you've ever had a different name, spelled it differently, or have records of slightly different addresses or account numbers, any of these can trigger an error. And of course if you're illegally using a false identity, the system has caught you. For most honest account users, however, minor discrepancies can be resolved once you provide PayPal or its partnering identity verification services more information.
Resolution
If PayPal has automatically noticed the identity verification conflict, it will send you an email asking for more information. In this case, provide the information requested. You should receive a response within three business days. If PayPal doesn't contact you, visit the Resolution Center and click "Steps to Remove Limitation > Resolve." Follow the instructions on-screen. In some cases you may be requested to provide more information or contact one of PayPal's third party business partners to resolve the conflicting information. If you're having trouble or additional questions, click "Contact Us" at the bottom of any page on PayPal's website.
