How to Add Sales Tax to My PayPal Purchases
How to Add Sales Tax to My PayPal Purchases
1. Make an online purchase and calculate the total purchase price.
2. Find out the sales tax for your state. You can find it on the Internet (see Resources below). Multiply the purchase price by the sales tax. If the price is $70 and the sales tax is 7 percent, multiply 70 by .07, which is 4.90.
3. Add the tax to the purchase price. In this case, you wouldpay $74.90.
4. Most calculators have a % key that can be used instead of the .07. The calculation would simply be 70 x 7% = $4.90.

PayPal Error 15004
Paypal API
The PayPal API, or application programming interface, is a series of tools that you can integrate with your website. With the PayPal API, you can allow your visitors to purchase items from your site with their PayPal accounts without ever having to leave your site. Because potential customers do not have to go to a third-party site to pay, they may feel more comfortable about divulging their personal information. In addition, with the API, you can design your own checkout page, and you are not stuck with PayPal's design.
API Security
One of the benefits of the API is its integrated security features. In addition to the fact that the API transmits data using Secure Socket Layer technology, it allows you to earmark suspicious transactions for further scrutiny and provides you with an API certificate that you can use to connect to PayPal securely. It also provides you with a comprehensive library of error codes and their meanings. You can use this library to diagnose problems when you see that someone was unable to purchase from you using their PayPal account or their credit card.
Error Codes
These automated error codes protect you from a wide range of potential problems. Aside from the obvious issue of someone not entering a valid debit or credit card number, you may run into several other potential issues. For example, you will see error 10407 in your logs if a potential customer enters an improperly formatted email address into an order form. Some people do not like giving their information away, and they will enter fake email addresses instead. You will see error code 11455 in your logs if your prospective customer got as far as the billing agreement and then did not click the "I agree" box. In this case, the transaction would have ended there.
Error 15004
You will see error 15004 in your logs when someone tried to sign up for your service or buy your product with a debit or credit card, but were unable to correctly enter the three-digit CSV code located on the back of the card. The CSV code is an extremely important security feature because it increases the chances that the person making the order possesses the physical card being used. PayPal calls this type of error a "Gateway Decline," because the person attempting to use the card will be able to go no further in the purchase process.

How to Wire Money to China
1. Create a PayPal account. 'Personal' PayPal accounts do not incur any fees, even when sending and receiving money from other PayPal accounts from a non-credit card source, such as a PayPal balance. If your recipient does not have an account, tell him to do so as well.
2. Confirm a bank account or link a credit card to your account. Linking a credit card is instant, but verifying a bank account generally takes three to five days. PayPal deposits two small amounts into your bank account, which you type into their interface. This is necessary to prevent unauthorized use of your bank account.
3. Send money to your recipient. Click 'send money' and type in the PayPal e-mail address linked to the recipient's account. If you do not have a positive account balance, you need to choose a funding source such as the credit card or bank account you verified earlier. Your recipient receives the money instantly and can withdraw the funds via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or check. He also has the ability to spend his balance with any online merchant that accepts PayPal.

Scams on PayPal Personal Payments
Email Scam
The most commonly reported form of PayPal personal payment scam is a fraudulent email sent from a third party asking for log-in or sensitive banking information. The email will be doctored with the PayPal letterhead, and appear official. It will usually be addressed generically and claim that its computer systems have been down, and that your personal data has been lost. The email will then prompt you to a link where your personal information is prompted and collected by a hacker or third party.
How to Know It's a Scam
Some of these fraudulent emails appear official, in the normal PayPal template, including security warnings. PayPal will never ask you for personal or banking information over email. If you ever receive an email prompting for this information, it is a scam. PayPal will also address you by your first and last name in any communications. PayPal will never ask you for banking PINs or Social Security ID numbers, which many of these scams attempt to collect.
Attachments
Some scams will include an attachment or request you to download files from them via email. PayPal will never request you to download software, especially via email. This is a telltale sign of a third party attempting to implant malicious software on your machine that could then pass along log-in or other personal information.
Precautions
Always log in to PayPal using a secure Internet connection, and by opening a new browser window and going directly to the PayPal site. If you believe you are the victim of a scam or an attempted scam, forward the communications to Spoof@paypal.com, and immediately delete it from your inbox.
