How to Add Sales Tax to My PayPal Purchases
1. Make an online purchase and calculate the total purchase price.
2. Find out the sales tax for your state. You can find it on the Internet (see Resources below). Multiply the purchase price by the sales tax. If the price is $70 and the sales tax is 7 percent, multiply 70 by .07, which is 4.90.
3. Add the tax to the purchase price. In this case, you wouldpay $74.90.
4. Most calculators have a % key that can be used instead of the .07. The calculation would simply be 70 x 7% = $4.90.
