How Can I Apply for PayPal Credit?

1. Visit PayPal.com. Enter your PayPal email address and password and click 'Log In.' You must have a PayPal account.
2. Click the 'Products and Services' tab at the top of the page. Click 'View All PayPal Products' and select 'PayPal Extras MasterCard.'
3. Click 'Apply Now.' The secured PayPal Extras MasterCard credit card application will appear.
4. Select a standard or custom design. If you are approved for the card, PayPal will send you an email and allow you to upload a custom photo to serve as the design for your card.
5. Verify your contact information. Your PayPal information is already entered as your credit card information, such as your name, address and phone number. Click 'Change' to edit any of the information.
6. Enter your date of birth and annual income. Do not include child support or alimony unless it is income you depend on. Click 'Yes' under 'Streamline your shopping' to always checkout with your PayPal MasterCard credit card when you use PayPal as your payment method. Select 'No' if you do not want to automatically use your PayPal credit card.
7. Select 'Yes' under 'Go paperless' to receive your statements through email, or select 'No' to receive traditional mail statements. Click the check-box next to 'Yes, enroll me in the card security program' to sign up for the card security program, which will pay your PayPal balance up to $10,000 in case of unemployment, hospitalization or an approved leave of absence from your job.
8. Scroll through and read the terms and conditions, and then agree to the terms and conditions and click 'Agree and continue.' You will receive a decision in 30 seconds. You will first be considered for the PayPal Extras MasterCard credit card, and if you are not approved, you will be considered for the PayPal Smart Connect Card. The Smart Connect Card has less features and a higher interest rate. You will receive a 'We're unable to approve you' message in 30 seconds or less if you are not approved for either card. If you are approved, you will receive a confirmation email and the card will typically arrive in the mail in three to four weeks.
