How to Reverse PayPal Payments
1. Sign into your Paypal account. The only way to reverse Paypal payments is by refunding the payment directly to the buyer using the website.
2. Choose the "History" section at the top of the screen, and select the date of the transaction. If you’re unsure of the exact date, Paypal lets you pick a period of time by naming two dates and showing all transactions that occurred between those dates.
3. Find the payment you need to reverse, then select the "Details" button next to the date of the transaction. The Details menu shows you all information relating to that transaction, such as the buyer’s name, shipping address and any notes she sent to you about the sale. Write down the amount of the sale.
4. Select the "Refund Payment" button at the bottom of the screen. This takes you to another page and lets you reverse the payment. Type in the total amount you want to refund to the buyer using the information you wrote down earlier, and press submit.
5. Log out of your Paypal account and wait a few minutes before logging back into your account. The total amount should now be reversed back to the buyer, but you may need to wait a little longer to see the amount credited from your account.
How to Sell a Domain Name Using PayPal
1. Create a PayPal account using an email address and a password. Apply for a PayPal Merchant Services account by selecting the 'Business' tab at the top of page. Unlike a personal PayPal account, a PayPal business account allows you to receive payments.
2. Link your checking account to your PayPal account. Have a blank check ready so you can input the bank routing and account numbers found at the bottom of the check. PayPal requires your bank account information to activate your PayPal account.
3. Go to eBay's website through your PayPal account. From the 'Business' tab, place the cursor on 'Products & Services' and scroll down and click on the 'Sell on eBay' link. Click on the orange 'Sell on eBay' button, which launches you to the eBay website.
4. Register to become an eBay member. Enter your personal details and create an eBay user id. Choose a password and pick a secret question. Accept the User Agreement and Privacy Policy statements. EBay sends you an email confirmation, which is the final step in the account activation process.
5. Type 'domain names' under the search category on eBay. Create a descriptive title for your domain name such as 'high-end domain name available for sale.' Under section 4, 'Describe the item you're selling,' select the type. Because the category is domain name, eBay provides two choices under Type: Domain Name and Premium Domain Name. EBay also allows you to create your own. Select the Domain Extension (for example, .com, .biz or .org). Finally choose a service area from the drop-down menu. Provide a description of your domain name.
6. Set an auction price for your domain name and the number of days for the auction. Make sure there is a check in the box next to 'Accept Payment with PayPal' under the section entitled, 'Decide how you'd like to be paid.' Check to make sure the email address you use with PayPal appears.
PayPal amp; State Regulations
Licensing Issues
Louisiana has sued PayPal for operating as an unlicensed bank.
States such as Louisiana and New York have charged PayPal with operating as an unlicensed bank. In 2002, Louisiana demanded that PayPal suspend services to state residents until it was licensed by the state as a bank. PayPal has since resolved these licensing issues by being licensed as a money transmitter the same as Western Union.
Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
California has sued PayPal over violating state law governing business practices and dispute resolution.
In March 2002, PayPal was sued in California for violating state law with its business practices and dispute resolution procedures. A formal settlement was agreed to in June 2004 in which PayPal agreed to change their dispute resolution practices and paid $9.25 million to resolve the matter. In August 2002, PayPal was accused of violating California law with parts of its user agreement and arbitration process and was made to change them to comply with state law.
Client Rights and Liabilities
New York ordered PayPal to disclose customer rights and liabilities.
In March 2004, the New York Sate Attorney General ordered PayPal to more accurately disclose client's rights and liabilities. The company complied.
The Best Way to Send Money to Belize
Bank-to-Bank Wire Transfers
1. Visit a bank and send the money by wire transfer. This is the easiest method available, though the most expensive. Give the bank your name, the recipient's name and address and bank information (account and routing number).
2. The transfer can take from a few hours to a week. Confirm with your bank how long it will take. The recipient will have to go to the bank to pick it up, or it can be deposited directly into his account.
3. Fees for wire tranfers differ slightly from bank to bank. For example, in sending money to Belize, Bank of America charges $35 to $45 to the sender and $16 to the recipient.
Bank-Centered Service Companies
4. Try a dedicated money-wiring service like Western Union or MoneyGram. They use the same wire-transfer technology as the bank, but they streamline it so you can do it on line. As with a bank wire transfer, it takes a few hours to a week. The cost is lower: $5.00 to send $50 to Belize.
5. Visit MoneyGram or Western Union's home page and create an account or sign in. Fill in the country of origin and the recipient's country, choose a delivery option, and then click 'Continue.'
6. Enter the amount and type of currency. Fill in the tecipient's name. Put in your credit-card number to pay for the transaction amount plus fees. You'll see a date when the money will be available in Belize and a confirmation number. Send this information to the recipient, which he will need to receive the money.
Email-Centered Companies
7. Use PayPal if you know the recipient's email address. There are other email-centered companies, but Paypal is the most established. PayPal charges $1.50 to send any amount up to $300 to Belize. The recipient will receive an email telling her the money has arrived. It will be available to her immediately.
8. Find the PayPal home page and sign up if you don't already have an account. Registration can take several days. As part of the process, PayPal will make a small transaction with the bank account or credit card you're using, and you will have to verify that information.
9. Once you have an active account, sign into PayPal and click on 'Send Money.' Enter the email address of the recipient, plus the amount and type of currency. Attach an optional label to the transaction that reminds you of its purpose. Click 'Send Money' to finalize the transaction. The recipient will receive an email telling him he has received the money. He can then transfer it to his bank account.
How to Open a PayPal Merchant Account
1. You can avoid the hassle and risk of credit card transactions or simply add an alternative by adding a PayPal Merchant Account to the payment options of your website. You can even create you own shopping cart rather than having to 'rent' one if you use PayPal to handle payment on all your business orders.
2. PayPal has a convenient recommendation wizard set up to help you set up the kind of payment system that will best fit your business. You can choose from up to eight different ways to set up your business transactions.
3. You will need to set up your account first. Paypal lets you choose whether you will need a Premier Account for individuals buying and selling online, or a Business Account which would be if you want a merchant account for a company or group name.
4. Actually getting your PayPal merchant account registered is then just a simple process of filling out the requested forms. You can go directly to the site to open a PayPal Merchant Account by following the link under Resources below.
5. Once you have your PayPal merchant account set up, selling items on the internet will be fast, easy and secure!
