Can You Use a PayPal Account on Craigslist?

Item Availability
According to AuctionBytes.com, a trade publication for online merchants, many Craigslist posts include PayPal payment details. However, unlike eBay, items are not automatically removed once sold; don't send payments until you've confirmed that the item is available.
Payment Requests
Sellers or buyers who don't provide PayPal info will often consider PayPal transactions. To use PayPal on Craigslist, simply ask the other individual if they have an e-mail address with an accompanying PayPal account.
Documentation
PayPal provides free invoicing features available to all its users. Take advantage of this service and send or request invoices for all Craigslist transactions. This will help you keep track of the cash-flow in case the deal falls through.
Contact Information
Craigslist users can hide their contact information from buyers. Before doing business, get all necessary information so you know who to contact if you don't receive the item or payment.
Dealing Locally
Whenever possible, deal locally in order to avoid online scams. It's important to actually see the item you're buying prior to sending a PayPal payment.
