How to Pay PayPal With a Checking Account
1. Open the PayPal website in your browser. Enter your email address and password to log into your account.
2. Click on the "Add or Edit Bank Account" option to link your PayPal account with a checking account. The option is located in the "Profile" drop-down menu under the "My Account" tab.
3. Click on the "Add Bank" button toward the bottom of the page. Select the "Checking" option for the type of bank account being added. Enter your account's routing number and account number in the appropriate fields. Click the "Continue" button.
4. Confirm the bank account by monitoring your checking account for two deposits from PayPal. These deposits are typically very small and may be as little as a few cents. Enter the deposit amounts in PayPal using the "Confirm Bank Account" button on the main account page. If the deposit amounts entered match what PayPal deposited into your account, your checking account will be confirmed and ready for use to pay for PayPal purchases.
How to Make a Paypal Donate Button

2. Click the "Log in" button below the button type menu to log in to your PayPal account if necessary. Fill in the "Organization name/service" field. Click the arrow next to the "Customize text or appearance" link to customize the button.
3. Select the options you want to customize the button appearance. A preview is displayed next to the customization options. Select the currency in the drop-down menu.
4. Click "Create Button" after customizing your button to receive the button code. Copy the code and paste it into the HTML of a page where you want to display the donate button.
How to Use PayPal Buttons
1. Create a PayPal account, if you do not already have one. You have to be registered with PayPal to use PayPal services, including buttons. You will need to create an account even if you only intend to collect donations with your button.
2. Choose an account type. PayPal offers four different types of accounts: personal, premier, business and student. Personal accounts have limited access to Merchant Services and PayPal Debit Cards. Business accounts have unlimited access to all services and support multiple accounts.
3. Log in to your PayPal account. Click on 'My Account,' then 'Profile,' then 'More Options.' This takes you to a page with more account options, listed in three columns. In the 'Selling Preferences' column, click on 'Create New Button.'
4. Choose the type of button you want to use on your website. PayPal offers Shopping Cart, Subscription, Buy Now, Donation and Gift Certificate buttons. Shopping Cart and Buy Now buttons allow visitors to purchase products directly on your website, while Subscription buttons allow visitors to pay for services or products received in timed increments. Donation buttons can be used to raise money for a specific cause or even a personal project. Gift Certificate buttons allow visitors to give your products or services as gifts.
5. Choose your price, currency, shipping and tax. You can also customize your button with dropdown menus or special text. PayPal also allows you to track inventory and loss, and add special checkout features with Merchant Accounts.
6. Decide if you or PayPal will host your images. If you have your own website with a server where you can upload your button image, download the button after you finish customizing. If you have a blog or do not have access to a server, copy the HTML code. If you copy code, PayPal will host your button image online.
7. Paste your code into your website or blog. If you are selling products, it is customary to put your PayPal button directly under the product. If you are selling services or collecting donations, choosing where you put your PayPal button will affect how much money you make. Place your button 'above the fold' (this refers to the top half of your webpage) so that visitors can see it easily.
What Are Ways To Send Money to My PayPal Account?
Bank Account
If you have funds in your checking or savings account that you'd like to transfer to PayPal, you can link your bank account to your PayPal account. For security purposes, PayPal confirms your bank account by depositing two small amounts of money into your account. After confirming that you received these amounts, you can begin transferring money to your PayPal account from your bank account. You may link up to eight bank accounts to your PayPal account. You can also transfer your PayPal funds to your bank account at anytime. Transfers from or to your bank account typically take three to four days.
Credit Card
As with a bank account, you can link your credit or debit card to your PayPal account. You cannot directly fund your PayPal account with your credit or debit card, but you can use your card to pay for purchases through PayPal. Once you link your card to PayPal, the company confirms the card as yours by charging a $1.95 fee that is later reimbursed. You can pay with your card whenever you use your PayPal account.
MoneyPak
A MoneyPak is a funding method for Green Dot prepaid debit cards and for your PayPal account. You can purchase a MoneyPak at various retail stores. There is no predetermined amount on the MoneyPak; you can add $20 to $1,100 dollars onto the MoneyPak when you purchase it. Most locations allow you to add only $500, although Wal-Mart allows funding of up to $1,100. Once you purchase the MoneyPak, you can transfer the funds directly into your PayPal account. The funds appear instantly.
Selling Items
If you sell items over the Internet, you can ask the buyer to pay you via PayPal. The buyer must have a PayPal account to complete any PayPal-related transactions. Once the buyer sends you the money, the funds are immediately available in your PayPal account. Certain auction sites, such as eBay, use PayPal as the preferred payment method. PayPal is associated with eBay.
Sending Money
If you don't have a bank account or credit card, or if you prefer not to link them to your PayPal account, you can ask a friend or family member to send you money via PayPal. As long as the person you're asking has a PayPal account, he can send money from his PayPal account to your PayPal account.
