What Is the Cheapest Way to Send Money Overseas?

Wiring Money
There are a number of different companies, ranging from Western Union and Money Gram to cheap local places (which may not be as secure), you can use to wire money overseas. The amount it costs to send money by this method is based on how much of a percentage the particular wire-transfer service charges for the transfer and what the cost is of sending this money to a particular country. For example, it's more expensive to transfer money to a third-world country than it is to a first-world country. Sending money this way overseas should be weighed by how much you are sending and how much it is worth to you to send it this way.
PayPal and Other Online Sites
Using a website like PayPal or smaller online sites where you can securely electronically wire-transfer money might be the safest, cheapest and most efficient way to send money overseas. It's totally free to send an amount under $500 to anyone who has an account with PayPal, which is based in the United States. For transfers of more than $500, a percentage is taken out of the transfer by PayPal, but this is reasonable in comparison to the classic wire-transfer locations. The best thing about the online sites is that they are very secure because their entire business is based on keeping their customers safe and confident by keeping out hackers or electronic thieves.
Direct Deposit
With a bank account which can be accessed from overseas or is located in the same country as the person who you are transferring money, you can directly deposit money into most bank accounts without any trouble or charges. All you need is the bank account and routing number from the person who you are transferring money to, and then, by going to branch of their bank, this money can be transferred into their account. Once the money is in their account, they should be able to access it overseas, unless it is a large sum and the bank puts a hold on it.
