How to Use PayPal Buyer Credit
1. Apply for PayPal Buyer Credit by visiting its homepage (see Resources). Click the yellow 'Apply Now' button to get started in this process. If you have an existing PayPal account, enter your regular login information, such as username and password, to gain access. Sign up for a new account if you don't already have one. You'll be prompted to fill in details such as your name, a valid email address, physical address and a contact phone number.
2. Enter the necessary details required to apply for PayPal Buyer Credit. It will take a short time to get a final decision and know if you've been approved. Factors such as past and current accounts listed on your credit history determine if you're eligible. Negative factors such as unpaid account balances, write-offs and late payments will decrease your chances of receiving PayPal Buyer Credit. Determining the maximum amount of funds that will be attached to your new account will also depend on your credit history.
3. Shop with PayPal Buyer Credit when you need to buy major items for your personal or business use. In some cases, you'll also have the chance to take advantage of promotional offers, deferred payments or low interest rates. Some online stores allow you to avoid interest for 3, 6 or 12 months as long as you make preset monthly payments on the items purchased.
4. Use your PayPal Buyer Credit account toward any online retailer that accepts PayPal as a valid form of payment. Visit an online retailer such as eBay, Newegg or Wal-Mart to browse through items to purchase. After you've selected a few things, check out through the website's payment system. Choose PayPal as your payment option to start using your PayPal Buyer Credit.
5. Log into your PayPal account by entering your username and password when you're prompted to do so. The PayPal Buyer Credit funds will be immediately available for you to select. Follow the on-screen prompts to successfully checkout and pay for your new purchase. The PayPal Extras MasterCard, however, may not be used to access PayPal funds. Applicants will receive their PayPal Extras MasterCard approximately seven to 10 business days after the application is approved.

PayPal Smart Connect Cards are not eligible to collect Reward Points on purchases.

The PayPal Extras MasterCard provides 'Extended Buyer Protection' at no additional cost when cardholders make a payment via PayPal. Additionally, PayPal Extras cardholders are not liable for any unauthorized charges made with their card.
Exclusive Offers
Finally, PayPal Extras MasterCard provides cardholders from time to time with exclusive offers. Such offers generally provide for deferred interest on purchases.
