How to Calculate eBay Fees

1. Visit eBay's help pages (see References) to determine the fee for the item you intend to sell. Fees vary based on listing style and the type of product. Determine if you will sell your item via auction-style or eBay's fixed-price listing.
2. Determine what your listing fee will be. For example, auction-style listing fees typically start at 10 cents to 15 cents, and fixed-price listings fees are .35 cents. Be sure to add any listing upgrades or reserves.
3. Determine what your final value fee will be by calculating the final sale price by the correct percentage. For example, auction-style listing final value fees start at 8.375 percent for the first $25. Fixed-price listing final value fees range from 6 percent to 15 percent, depending on the category of the item sold. Keep in mind that you won't know your final sale price with an auction until the auction ends. However, you can compare similar items sold via auctions to get an idea of what your item may sell for.
4. Subtract any PowerSeller discounts from your final value fee if you are a qualifying PowerSeller.
5. Calculate the PayPal fee. The average eBay seller can expect to incur a transaction fee of 2.9 percent plus 30 cents. Multiply this by your sale price (or anticipated price). eBay only accepts PayPal as a payment method for any items that will be shipped (versus the buyer picking up the item from your home or store), so the fee is unavoidable.
6. Add steps 1 to 4 to determine your total eBay fees.

How to Get PayPal to Restore Limited Account Access

Resolving a Negative Balance
1. Visit PayPal.com and sign into your PayPal account. Look at your PayPal balance. If it is highlighted in red and negative, you must add funds to your PayPal account by adding funds from a bank account or a GreenDot MoneyPak.
2. Click 'Add Funds.' Select the 'GreenDot MoneyPak' option if you bought a MoneyPak to add funds to your PayPal account. Enter your MoneyPak number on the following screen to confirm your MoneyPak; the funds will be added instantly after you confirm you wish to add the money to your PayPal account. If you add the necessary funds to bring your PayPal balance back to positive, then your account will be restored and you will have full access to your account.
3. Select 'Add funds from bank account' under 'Add Funds' if you wish to transfer funds from your bank account to bring your PayPal balance back to positive. If you already have a confirmed bank account with PayPal, then you can simply enter the amount you want to transfer and the money will appear in your PayPal account within three to five days. If you do not have a confirmed bank account, you must confirm one by entering your banking information, such as the routing number and account number, and wait for PayPal to deposit two small funds that total less than $1, which typically takes less than three days. Confirm the amount PayPal deposited into your bank account, and afterward your bank account will officially be linked with your PayPal account and you can begin transferring the necessary funds.
Confirming your Identity
4. Visit PayPal.com and sign into your PayPal account. Click the 'Resolution Center' button.
5. Scroll down to 'Steps to Remove limitation.' PayPal will provide you with a list of steps that you must take to resolve your limited account status and restore your account back to good standing.
6. Complete the necessary steps to restore your account. You must prove your identity by confirming random personal information for the first two steps, such as your location, driver's license number, your bank account and your Social Security Number. The third step will always ask you to scan and upload your Social Security card. Each step has specific instructions. For example, you can confirm your location by entering your phone number, you can confirm your driver's license number by scanning and uploading a picture of your license, and you can confirm your Social Security Number by entering your Social Security Number. You must scan and upload your Social Security Card even if you confirm your Social Security Number.
7. Call PayPal's customer service number immediately after you complete all three steps. A customer service agent will look at the information you entered and restore your account as long as the information matches up with the information you used when you created your PayPal account. Click the 'Contact us' link at the bottom of your main PayPal account page, and click 'Call us.' A web PIN will appear in addition to PayPal's customer service number. You must enter the PIN when you call customer service.

How Does a Prepaid PayPal Card Work?

What Is a Prepaid PayPal Card?

Its prepaid card is a debit card that allows quick access to your funds. PayPal offers an array of prepaid and debit card options in the U.S. The PayPal Card is the prepaid debit card option available to PayPal's Premier and Business accounts. These accounts are available to individuals and businesses who conduct business online. Initiating an account is free. Transaction fees apply to money that is received, and sending money is free for all accounts.
How to Obtain a PayPal Debit Card
PayPal's Debit Card option is available to PayPal Premier and Business customers. These account types allow for high transaction volumes, meet credit card payment needs and provide access to special features. Once you have established an authorized account type, you will be provided with the option of selecting a debit card. The process is also free and does not require a credit check. You will receive your PayPal Debit Card in the mail two to four weeks thereafter.
Benefits of the PayPal Debit Card
There are many benefits to carrying a PayPal Debit Card. Premier and Business account balances are FDIC insured for up to $100,000. The debit card allows you to safely and conveniently purchase items without the worries of carrying cash. The debit card carries a MasterCard logo and is accepted wherever MasterCard is accepted. The card provides you with instant access to your funds, available through purchase and at ATMs worldwide. Generous limits are applied to the debit card, which includes a $3,000 daily purchase limit, unlimited monthly purchase limits and a $400-per-day ATM limit. PayPal Pros amp; Cons

Acceptance
PayPal is a widely accepted method for buying and selling things online. While it was originally used mostly in transactions between two private parties, such as for eBay auctions, PayPal is now an accepted payment tool for almost all e-commerce websites. The widespread acceptance of PayPal makes it a great way to pay for shopping online. Checking out and paying with PayPal is usually much faster than paying with a credit card, because your financial information is already linked to your PayPal account.
Email Linkage
Another advantage of PayPal is that a given PayPal account is linked to an email address. This means that the only information that you need to give someone in order to receive a payment via PayPal is the email address associated with your account. This makes for an extremely convenient and streamlined payment process, however it does come with the risk of sending payments to the wrong recipient if email address are entered incorrectly.
Transfer Speed
The payment process of PayPal is fast and easy to understand, but the rate at which funds are ultimately transferred can vary. It can sometimes take several days for a pending payment to be cleared, and until a payment is cleared, funds will not be available. Another issue is that funds received via PayPal are added to your PayPal account balance, not the balance of any linked checking or savings accounts. After receiving payments with PayPal, you must schedule a balance transfer from PayPal to an outside account unless you plan to keep the money in your PayPal account. Transferring funds from PayPal to a linked account usually takes a few business days, which can further delay the time until you actually have access to funds you receive with PayPal.
Security
One of the main reasons people use PayPal is for financial security when shopping online. While any online financial transaction is more risky than going to a bank, using PayPal is for online shopping avoids entering financial information at every individual website you visit for shopping. This can help reduce the chance of having your financial information getting into the wrong hands.
Fees
One of the biggest drawbacks of using PayPal is that certain payments will incur fees. Money transfers made between friends and family are not charged fees, but payments made for the transfer of goods and services are charged a flat rate of 2.9 percent for transfers under $3,000 plus an additional 30 cents. Fee percentages are lower for payments greater than $3,000.

11. Present your PayPal debit card at a merchant to pay for a purchase as a credit card transaction or go to a local ATM machine and use your PayPal debit card to withdraw funds as cash.
