How to Configure Zencart for PayPal
Prepare Paypal
1. Log in to your Paypal account and click the “Profile” tab. Select “Email” and write your primary Paypal email address as it appears on the screen. Click “Back to Profile Summary” and select “Instant Payment Notification Preferences.”
2. Click “Edit” and place a check mark in the notification preferences box to turn the feature on. Input your Zencart store’s Instant Payment Notification URL and click “Save” to set the URL. Locate this URL in the Paypal payment module of the Zencart admin screen.
3. Click “Website Payment Preferences” to configure the way Paypal handles payments through your Zencart store. Click “On” next to the “Auto Return for Website Payments” setting. Provide the return URL and click “Save.” Locate the return URL in the Paypal payment module of the Zencart admin screen.
4. Remove any tax or shipping options you have configured for your Paypal account. Save your changes.

5. Log in to your Zencart administration panel. Click “Modules” and select “Payment.” Click “Install” if you have never used Paypal with Zencart before. Click “Edit” if the Paypal module has already been installed.
6. Input your Paypal account’s primary email address. This value is case-sensitive and must match exactly with the email address you copied from Paypal’s profile screen.
7. Set your Zencart options based on how you want Zencart to notify you of transactions or errors. Review your configuration and save your changes.
